I searched for this and found another similar thread, but there wasn't any resolution.
I just got a new 6 cell for me T60 and (after one full calibrating cycle) set the thresholds to start charging at 60% and stop at 90%.
Today I drained my battery to about 80% and then plugged it in. An hour later I checked it (it was on the whole time - I was at work) and the battery meter read 100%.
If I mouse over the green battery icon it says "charging will start when below 60% and stop at 90%.
It seems clear to me that this is not what happened. Am i missing something?

It's a glitch in the way charge thresholds are set. The only work around I know of is to ALWAYS set your charge thresholds when it's on battery, then plug it into AC. Then you could leave your notebook.

yup. i did as you said and now it's hitting a charge ceiling at 87% - close enough for me.
thanks. -
Arkitekt, thx for the tip. fixed for me as well. This should be a sticky.

Hmm, I didn't know it would work for anybody else lol. Glad it did though,

Where are you guys/gals getting the battery threshold from, what program, I looked at the Thinkpad software suite and I'm not finding it. Help a fellow out. Thanks!

Double click on the green battery gauge in your task bar to the left of the system tray.

Ya I have power manager open and I'm not seeing a threshold kit or setting to change it...hmmmm
-
It's the last tab and there's a button that says "Battery Maintenance"
