I hear these conflicting reports and reviews towards the battery life of said product. With the 8 cell battery, there are those who claim only 3.5 hours, and one person's review I read claims up to 7 to 9 hours (which is an hour more than Lenovo's claim).

So, my question is what has your experience been?

Also, does anyone know if XP Professional 64 bit eats up more energy than 32 bit? I am debating between the two for my next laptop.

You're going to lose more functionality with XP 64-bit due to the lack of drivers.

The settings will play a large role in determining battery life. For example if you're watching a DVD with the screen at the brightest level you're going to get less battery life than if you've got the screen dimmed with WiFi off.
