I have a T61 with Vista 64. I did a clean install following the guide and used the ThinkPad Update Utility to install all the Thinkvantage and drivers. The problem is the beep on battery connect/ disconnect is gone. I looked in the power manager, under global settings. “Beep when power Management changes” is grayed out, but the box is checked. Does anyone know how to enable it? Maybe a back way like through the registry.
    Thanks

Check in the BIOS, I believe this can be enabled/disabled there as well. If that doesn't work, fully uninstall power manager, and install the newest version.
