I was just wondering if it takes a while for the battery to re-adjust itself after a reboot? I usually put my computer to sleep, charge, etc. and I can run Firefox, AIM, MS Word simultaneously while keeping the wattage around 8-9. After some Windows Updates, it requires me to reboot, and after rebooting my computer yesterday afternoon, it is running around 11-13 watts which significantly decreases my battery life. I was just wondering if this is to expected after reboots and shutdowns.

To be expected, when the computer starts back up from a shut down/restart it needs to start up all of the services. After everything is loaded and Windows has "settled down" your wattage will go back to normal.
