I just got a new battery and I have a question. Before I charged it I put a threshold hold of up to 95% fully charge then I charged the battery for the first time. Is this fine or should I have done it differently?

All system manufacturers have their own battery policies, but this one from HP is pretty generic to Vista machines.

Charge it up all the way once or whatever then set the thresholds.

I'm inclined to agree with Jaredy.

I charge mine up to 100% every month or so, but I use a 95% stop threshold almost all the time.

Is it okay that the first time I did not do that. The second time I will though..?

LT61B yes, it's okay. Don't worry, you haven't screwed your battery for good. Just do it properly once a month. Next time will be fine, don't sweat it. :)
