I was wondering what's the maximium battery life anyone was able to achieve with their X60 with the extended battery. I know the specs listed somewhere between 7-8 hours (expected wireless to be turn off of course). However after 2 full caliberation of the battery, I only manage around 5-5.5 hours of battery with the screen 1/4 bright and wireless on. I was wondering if I could get some feedbacks from other using the extended battery as to what their battery life is with wireless on.

7-8 hours is under ideal conditions. they probably tested it with the lowest screen brightness, wireless turned off, removed unnecessary services, etc, and just let it idle.

My friend got an X60 fairly loaded, he can go up to 7 hours, but on average he gets about 6 hours.

EDIT: He has the 8 cell battery

spoon, do you even own one? i thought not!
I had 11-12 hours at idle and the screen at minimum and wireless/bluetooth off.

Thietlong, I quite easily got 7-8 hours of use under conditions you describe. I have bluetooth on and the Atheros wireless on, which uses more power than the intel card. Use the power saver mode, and ensure your cpu doesn't spike. My system and its 8-cell battery are 9 months old so it doesn't last as well as it did last year, but 5 hours is way too short, if you're using your system properly and your battery is still in decent condition?

Thanks for the feedbacks, yeah, I just got this X60 recently, one week old. The battery only have 7 cycles on it. Well I downloaded the latest driver update for power manager, 1.14 I think and set mine on maximium battery life, I think it should read somewhere around 6:30 -7 hour now. Also SkiBunny, what you mean "ensure your cpu doesn't spike". Your power saver mode is just the thinkadvantage power manager correct?
