This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Banned from the official Lenovo forums?

    I‘m trying to access the official Lenovo forums. I always get this error message and I have no idea why.

    „We're sorry, but you have been banned from using this site“

    I don‘t know why I‘m suddenly banned. My last post was regarding Win 7 drivers for T400 in the Windows 7 discussion. I also commented on a post where someone was expressing his hard experience of troubles with customer service. I said that I had had similar troubles and told him my experience. I ordered a customized T400 from the USA Lenovo site and didn‘t get the 7 in 1 smart card reader like I ordered but I‘m not going to do a big deal about it since I really can‘t. I live in Iceland and it would cost me a lot of money to resend the computer to the USA.

    Could that be enough to be banned from the forums?? This is ridicoulous! So much for the freedom of speech, this must be some mistake...

    Send a Private Message to either Erik or JaneL, they are the moderators for that forum, they will tell you why your IP address and account was banned.

    i just removed the ban.   it was automated by the forum due to requesting the removal of your email address.

    "Ban Reason: Recipient of e-mail (Hargo) requests this e-mail address to be removed from our system"

    the forum software we use doesn't have the ability to remove email addresses without banning.   unfortunately we don't have a workaround for this.

    apologies for the confusion.   you're free to participate again.

    I remember clicking that option in one of the email but I have clearly misunderstood what it actually meant. I thought I would only stop getting notification emails from that specific topic I was following.

    JHoleSkiBum - i just removed your ban.   we're working with the software developer to fix this issue as we've found a lot of users who are experiencing the same thing.

    apologies for your experience.   you should be able to log in and participate again.

    Clear cookies + proxies + temporary email accounts + new accounts on said website = problem fixed.

    renee - unless it's a different "Renee" with a T61p, it looks like you registered on the lenovo forum back in january of 2008.   if you need help logging in, just let me or jane know.
