I own a T61 (specs. can be seen in my sig.) and I have a problem with the frame which surrounds the keyboard.

On the part above the fan vent I can depress the frame. It seems that the keyboard frame doesn't fit the lower frame perfectly. If I press in on the fan ventilation grill and press down on the keyboard frame it fits. But when I release they pop back to their respective positions.

Does anyone know how to fix it... ? It's not a huge problem and it doesn't affect the function of the computer but I just hate things like this.

Maybe a new frame or some carefully applied super glue ?

Here's a small YouTube video of the issue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=307KgWMDn3w

Have you tried applying firm almost hard pressure in that area? Some notebooks have trouble getting the clip to clip without firm/strong pressure.

I recommend using your thumb and closer to the edge

I have... It just pops back in "place". I've also tried to remove an tighten the screws which holds the frame in that corner with no result.

I've the same model as yours, a SXGA+ T61 and mine does not have the issue you have, did you tried dissasembling the bezel and refitting on the frame?

Yes, several times... Maybe a small amount of super glue will fix it. Otherwise I'll will see if I can modify the frame/bezel så it will fit better... Maybe carefully sanding it...

I can't remember if it was that part of the bezel or the keyboard itself, but last time I had a thinkpad apart it was doing something similar. There was a cable caught under it.

Nothing caught... I've checked everything really carefully. Maybe I should call Lenovo and see if they would send a replacement keyboard frame/bezel...
