So perhaps this is related more to sleep mode / resume and turbo memory than just flat out turbo memory? At least for you and I, eyecon82. I never have BSOD or lockups except when:

    Resuming from sleep or
Docking and undocking in the advanced mini dock

NOTE: Often I can't even go into sleep, it just locks up then.

they were not all related to sleep/resume issues. often it would lock up while using firefox or doing other random tasks...i would say 75% of the time it was when resuming from sleep or going to sleep..the other 25% while browsing with IE or firefox

That is actually a known issue with the OLD faulty driver. This was rectified with the new driver available on INTEL.com

Thanks! I appreciate you swinging by the Lenovo thread to offer some advice. I was not having trouble with the old driver, but I installed it today and also updated my clean install guide based your advice.

Yeah, it kinda goes against my own advice. However, tinkering with my laptop is sort of a hobby. I like to be able to provide feedback and good advice to the folks here on the forum.

Besides, I'm invincible! :p Seriously though I kinda am. I use Complete PC Backup and Restore. It only takes about 15 minutes to restore back to my clean install with all of my drivers and applications that I know work great.

I actually just restored again a couple days ago. I was trying out SP1 beta for the second time. I was having issues with it again. I restored back and all is well again.
