I was watching a video the other day on my IBM Lenovo T61 Win XP sp2 laptop when all of a sudden BSOD. When it booted back up I noticed both the modem and sound were no longer working. I have tried many things since then including trying to reinstall the driver and even upgrading to sp3 and nothing. It looks like the hardware just disappeared from the laptop.
Any other thoughts or suggestions that I can try would be great.

    Thanks
    Jay

Reinstalling windows would a good try.

Was there any power surge or something at that time?

    Try Windows Update.

Also make sure to disable DLA. (right click optical drive and disable it)

@Arkit3kt - Did both of those suggestions and still nothing

Here is the message i get wen i try to install the audio SoundMax driver
"The audio files do not support your computer hardware"

When i try to install the modem i get
"Driver installation failed: Could not find the device for this driver"

Click on the link in my signature to the Windows XP Clean Install Guide and skip to the part about installing UAA, Audio, and Modem. That is how you properly install it.

That's a much easier fix. Mind if I include that in the guide? :p
