I scanned my T400 with Avast and got a virus alert for "Resetc.exe" located in the partition

    S:\INOV8LOG\RESETC.EXE

I'm guessing this is supposed to be there, just want to make sure. thanks for any help with this.

My W500 did the same thing. Reset.exe is not useful so I'm guessing that Resetc.exe isn't of use either. So I just deleted it.

I've been using Avast for a while. I fine it more lightweight than AVG and seems to do a decent job.

I notice is scans web sites when you open them; if this really necessary - most new browsers (Chrome, Opera) tend to protect you from the bad stuff. Any opinions on this?

I guess it can't hurt, but basically, once I know my system is clean, the only thing I want to check is new email and any new files copied on my laptop (or downloaded.
