I have encounter auto shutdown for many months and send to IBM services center twice. But they keep saying, there is nothing wrong with my laptop. I asked them how did u check my laptop? They said they used their hardware to check and no problem with my laptop. of cuz, they were using their hardware that's why. after that, they didn't do anything and send back to me. The auto shut down problem is still on going and i'm so fed up with it. Could anyone give me suggestion on this issue? thanks.

When does your laptop auto shutdown? Is it after you let it sit for a long time? Is your laptop plugged in or running on battery when this happens? Does this happen randomly or do you notice certain times when this happens? What temperature is your laptop at?

Sorry for all the questions, but we need to know these things so we can hopefully help. :)

Do you leave near the equator? It's probably a temperature issue.

Sometimes when i just started for 10 min and sometimes after used for a longer time. auto shutdown encountered whether it was with battery or not. I'm using a cooler fan to reduce temperature. oh yeah, I live in s'pore.

I'm actually having the same problem with my lenovo 3000 v100. I also use a cooling fan but it hasn't had much of an effect. I noticed that we're both running the business version of windows vista. It seems unlikely, but perhaps it's connected with that? I'd love to hear any advice on this problem, it's a nightmare.

Try downloading a temperature reading program like Rightmark CPU Clock utility so you can see how hot your laptop gets. Also check out the cooling guide for tips on keeping your laptop cool. Make sure your using your laptop on a flat surface and don't block your laptop's fans.

I really don't think it has anything to do with Vista Business.
