    Hi

Purchased my x220 in autumn 2011 but recently had the board changed over due to a faulty displayport. Immediately thereafter, began to hear intermittent drop outs with any audio, be it the supplied conexant driver or external audio device driver. This was confirmed using Thesycon's DPC latency checker, free software, as each drop out shoots high up into the red. I never had audible latency issues before, over a year and half duration.

I have on-site warranty and have had three boards replacements so far (2 x 04W0696, 1 x 04W1431), this on the advice of the Lenovo reps.

Recently I've realised that the issue is releated to the internet because there are no drop outs with LAN cable unplugged.

    So far I've:

Updated LAN driver to latest version direct from Intel.

Updated Wireless driver to latest version direct from Intel, even though I don't use wireless very often.

Disabled/ uninstalled various stuff, such as windows firewall, MCE, foobar 2000, Java, flash player.

Reinstalled windows 7 using original recovery disks- update drivers using system update.

Reinstalled windows using windows 7 re-installation CD (clean install)- update drivers using system update

    ...all to no avail.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks for reading ..

Had this problem on my T420s after a motherboard replacement. Fixed it by installing an older version of the LAN driver (11.10.84.0) (not the WLAN). Don't update it after that.

Hi, that's interesting. Seems like more of Lenovo's replacement boards have this issue, then.

What date driver is 11.10.84.0 and do you know how to get it?

Does anyone know where old drivers previously used are stored on the c-drive?

If you are using the factory image then the version of the driver that shipped with your machine should be somewhere in C:\SWTOOLS
Of course, the version depends on when your machine was shipped.
