Hi, whenever I start up windows my audio volume is always at 100 and my microphone transmit volume is always at 7. This is a bit annoying because i always change my volume to around 20-30 to use earphones and I always need to turn my microphone voume transmit up - how do i fix this problem? I'm running a T61 with windows vista ultimate.

    Thanks!

but seriously, Control Panel - Sound, Speakers, Enhancements, and see if you have anything enabled
and try setting the level from the Levels tab

same with the microphone from System Sounds

I've turned all the enhancements off and it still continues to boot at 100 and mic at 7 - i've even uninstalled and re-installed afterwards several times
