But still the speaker still work after this message come out.

You can install the .NET Framework 3.0 runtime by downloading it from Microsoft here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...0b-f857-4a14-83f5-25634c3bf043&displaylang=en

That should allow you to install Smart Audio. You may also want the two newer .NET framework verisons 3.5 and 4.0 for maximum application compatibility. They can all be installed together and co-exist peacefully.

    3.5: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...fd-ae52-4e35-b531-508d977d32a6&displaylang=en
    4.0: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...bd-25c1-4fc0-919f-b21f31ab88b7&displaylang=en

You can check what version(s) of the .NET Framework you have installed by looking in your C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\ folder (if you're running a 64-bit version of Windows, also look in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64). You'll see a folder for each installed version.

For me, my C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\ has folders for v1.0.3705, v1.1.4322, v2.0.50727, v3.0, v3.5, and v4.0.30319. My C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64 folder has all of those except for the 1.0 and 1.1 (I think they were 32-bit only).

I feel like you need a PhD in computer science to figure out what order to install drivers and such when you're doing a clean install... I can't figure it out. There's a guide here, but it didn't mention updating .NET framework.

Well I don't have the PhD but I do have a Bachelor of Science in Computing Science. ;) That, and I'm a software developer whom works with the .NET frameworks for a living!

I was following this guide... but I guess I should run Windows Update BEFORE installing any drivers? There are drivers that seem to require things from various Windows Update

To be honest I'm not totally sure. You can definitely install the .NET Framework at any point along the way--so I'd say do it sooner rather than later.
