To those who might order standard screen T61:
I placed a T61 with standard screen last Saturday. After pressing the email button on top of order status to email myself details, I found the email received says this is a "THINKPAD T60". Due to change of mind I canceled that order today and placed a new order, also standard screen T61; the same happened: email says it's "T60". This doesn't seem to happen to orders of T61 wide screen. So does this mean standard screen T61 is actually a T60?

i think the standard screen t61 is not a t60
some people ordered and received their laptops already. different model number and all -
mine said T61. I would let it go and let lenovo do their work. I'm sure they would correct it as it goes into the plant for building.

Since so many have ordered and received a standard 4:3 T61 I'm wondering if anyone has bothered sharing pictures yet? If so, please direct me to them. I've been waiting ages to see some quality pics of what one actually looks like.

I'll call tomorrow and let you know the answer.

I actually ordered my T61 14' 4:3 yesterday. After seeing this post, I too mailed the details to myself, and it says T60 for me too. However the part number (8897 CT) is for T61 4:3.
Could the people who received their T61s please give some idea about how long it takes for the website to show the estimated ship date? The status website still shows 'In Process' for me.....not sure whats going on....
Thanks,

Did you notice when you customize 8897, on top of the page it says "Thinkpad T61 Wide 8897CTO"? It seems their web site is a mess, if all these are typos.

Thanks for the great pictures! So is the off centered screen an unmistakable sign that it is a T61?
What model is the one you placed next to it in some of the pictures? -
It was a T23
