I am looking for a new GENUINE battery on eBay for my ThinkPad T420, and I saw these:

    6 cells 55+ :
    1. http://www.ebay.com/itm/57Wh-OEM-Le...525252?hash=item2ee61360c4:g:mGsAAOSw0HVWBQmK

    2. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-6-c...139054?hash=item1c4267206e:g:JswAAOSwGiRTrRBc

    9 cells 55++:
    1. http://www.ebay.com/itm/94wh-Genuin...801573?hash=item3cd56e1ea5:g:htoAAOxy7MtRrwja

    2. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Bat...794237?hash=item2a365e937d:g:vMcAAMXQWlFRsEmn

I understood that I don't need the 70+/++ if I won't use it for any new ThinkPad than the T420, so I can save some bucks.

Are the batteries above really Lenovo's Genuine? Is it safe to order?
Is there a recommended seller on eBay? (Or anywhere else, cheaper and genuine?)

    Thank you

    Edit:
In the rush, I have ordered the 70++ battery for 60$ on eBay:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/281714661038?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
It looks genuine (I looked also on the other items in the store...)
To stick with this battery (70++)? Or to try cancel it and order one of the above batteries?

The pictures look genuine, but I once did buy a genuine battery on eBay based on the picture, but it was a third party battery.

Not necessarily. These could be NOS (new old stock).

You won't know until you receive the battery. 60 days is plenty of time for just about any manufacturing defect to show up.

Batteries are consumables and should be treated as such. No need for stressing over their longevity - IMO, that is - use the battery as per Lenovo's recommended guidelines and enjoy.

So did you order from any of them? Did they turn out to be genuine?

Looks legit, but the question about older batteries is how long it's been sitting around. If it's been awhile, the charge capacity may have degraded some. I bought a R400 left over battery a few years ago. Since it'd been on the shelf for some time, I think the remaining capacity was like 49/53w, so I was able to extract a 20% from the seller, which was fine with me.

    No idea.

That's because the Power Manager is not officially supported by Lenovo on any MS OS newer than W7.

You could try HWInfo to report the details of the battery in Windows 10.

Just grab the portable version and check under Smart Battery for info. I would assume that if it doesn't register the Device Name correctly (like the part number) then most likely it's non-OEM battery (though this isn't a guarantee as I don't have generic battery to test this theory out).

ok.. i found the old HD which runs windows 7 and I think it is genuine :) (is it?!)
I've got a second battery, the original 6 cell "55" battery, which, by the power manager, is in great shape!(?)

What is the best way for long lasting batteries if i mostly use it plugged in?
(i did not use it with its original battery, just received the T420 a few weeks ago...)

    Thanks

*battery2, battery3 is the new 70++ battery from eBay
    **battery-21, battery-22 is the old 55 battery

Yup, they seem genuine (the picture shoes it). You can check the reviews of the customers who already bought it. If you still doubt it then buy from Lenovo store directly ;)
