Does Lenovo still offer education discounts? I can't find it on its website. Does this still exist and if so where?
-
They still have them. Just google 'lenovo student' and the first link will take you to a page where you have to find your school.
I'm going to be ordering a T420 for school and the discount was an around 5%on top of the current promotion. Not a lot but every dollar counts. -

Got it, thanks.
Edit: I recommended Lenovo to a friend who teaches in a university. His school doesn't seem to be on the list. Can he still get discount? -
Fyi, buying through the Corporate Perks website (Lenovo Employee Pricing) is a much better deal than the student discount. The base price is less, the "add-ons" cost a few dollars less and you get to use the current coupon discount. You can access the Lenovo Corporate Perks website through the Mastercard promo that is mentioned frequently in this forum, as well as Barnes & Noble and Borders Rewards (but hurry on Borders Rewards because they will soon be pulling the plug on that one).

What mastercard promo?

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
You need to go through your university. Teachers have their own pricing through the university.
Also please do not link any discounts in this thread, post it in the Coupons thread, otherwise this thread will get locked. -
Search this forum and you will find the answer to your question. See the sticky for search instructions.
You definitely do not need to go through your university to get the best deal. -
Its okay, I found it. Sorry Tsunade_Hime, I didn't know.
Without linking, does anyone know if the mastercard market place offers a better deal over everything else? -
This is the best deal
-
Not only that, but haggling over the phone will definitely help. I used the B+N discount, plus the 10% email promotion (even though the terms said "...on your next purchase." I ended up saving 23.2% (roughly $500) on my W520 that way.

Thanks for all the info. Interestingly, I tried the same config with different discount programs such as educational, B&N, SPP, and they all ended up having the same sale price (with B&N costing 1 cent more
). Wonder if that's often the case or not...

With high-end laptops, you often won't see any deal better than 25%. You can usually see 30%-50% off consumer laptops, but they are built cheaply enough to basically be throw-away machines (due to the profit they generate).

Except EPP pricing kinda requires you to be an employee (or friend/family of one) of IBM or Lenovo. That's a bit of a hurdle for most people.
Are there still education discounts?
