The Fire Snake Notebook Virtuoso
Unfortunately, it looks like Lenovo is distancing themselves from Linux at the current time, atleast as far as the US market. You will probably have to buy the machine with Windows and install Linux yourself.(don't know if Lenovo has a no OS option?) Read the following articles....

I don't know what people find so difficult with Linux(not talking about distros like Gentoo, Arch, Slackware etc which require much more knowledge from the user and expect them to be developers almost). At least in regard to Ubuntu, it works straight out of the box for most hardware. I didn't have to modify a single config file or use the command line once to have the install up and running. In fact my Vista clean install was much more involved and required the download of numerous drivers, which I didn't have to do for Linux. -
Windows is the default. Everyone knows it, speaks the same language if you will. It will take great effort to go a different way.

I think Lenovo offering new Thinkpads with Linux the sales will improve. Many people are IT saavy and prefer to reinstall their OS of preference.

I always thought that OEMs like Lenovo are bound (by contract?) to offer Windows to their customer (for some reason). The only places I have found offerings with "No OS" are dealers who sell customizable barebone laptops (whitebooks).
Are there going to be t400s with Linux?
