Do all "full size" keyboard have the same sized keys? I know the whole keyboard size may be different, but what about the individual key caps? Are the smaller keyboard (e.g. X61) just have the ENTER, BACKSPACCE, SHIFT etc. keys smaller, but not the letters?

I think the keys are somewhat smaller. It's a fantastic keyboard, better than almost all other notebooks.

The keyboard on the x61 is slightly smaller than the T61. This is most noticeable on Enter, Backspace, Caps Lock, Shift, Tab, etc. However, I think the main keys are also very slightly smaller.

The x200 series uses a true full size keyboard (one of the benefits of a 12.1" widescreen). In fact, the T61 keyboard can be placed in the x200 if you like (although the x200 keyboard is fantastic on its own, so I'm not sure why you would replace it).

I think the X200 and T400 actually even share the same keyboard part number. Not sure about the X61, but I always thought it was just the full keyboard with parts of the shift, enter, backspace, etc. chopped off.

sorry, but they aren't even close.   not only are the bolt patterns and number of fasteners different, but the X200 keyboard has the new high-wear coating on the keys and the updated trackpoint buttons with red/blue stripes.

here are the part numbers for reference:

Ya, basically a bit of vinyl coating over the actual lettering.

the new coating is over the entire keys to help mitigate the "shine" that the ABS+PC plastic gets over time.   the printed lettering still has the standard spot-varnish coating over the print to help prevent it from wearing as well.

the X300/X301 and SL series keyboards have this coating as well.
