I've been using my 5th gen X1 for a week, struggling with the relatively flat keyboard. I'm coming from a T440S and I love that keyboard. I'm tempted to swap the X1 for a T470S, but I've read a few reviews stating it has "Lenovo's modern keyboard". So, is it the same lower profile keyboard of the 5th gen X1 or is it the T440S version?
Thanks.

T440 has the same keyboard as on other, newer, T-series models. The X series are super slim hence it's a bit shorter on the travel but still much better than most other laptops in existence.

My T460s has a tad more travel than my X1C5 (I think it's like 1.9mm vs 1.8mm). However, I find the X1C5 to feel more solid and quieter overall to type on; the keys don't feel as mushy on off center key strikes.
The T470s isn't suppose to be very different in construction to the T460s. -
Thanks for the input. I also miss the larger touchpad and more click travel, though I'm adjusting to that more easily. -

Keep in mind - Lenovo sources the keyboard from 2-3 OEMs for each model. You can have the 2 of the same model with a different feeling keyboard cause of that. I am merely saying the that the design is supposed to be the same. Broad strokes are the same but the finer details differ.
Are the T470S and X1 5th gen keyboards the same?
