    Are parts look-up accurate?

    We know that Lenovo makes errors in stating specifications of the machines being sold online, so sometimes one gets a Thinkpad whose parts do not match the specifications displayed when placing the order. What about the Parts Look up? Are the part numbers P/N or the FRU accurate? Is it the case that a part number is there only if the specified part is indeed in the machine?

    What is your underlying question? AFAIK parts lookup should be accurate; do you have some evidence to the contrary?
