    Are W510s on par with performance of most business desktops?

    Business desktops as in Small Form Factor ones? W510 would leave them dead... most dual core (i series cpu) SFF business desktops of the would have performance similar to the T410.

    Depends on what business your in.

    If someone was say a software developer and their job required them to have a computer as good as a W510 than if they were to have a desktop computer it would be more powerful than the W510 and cost less.

    You are still sacrificing CPU power for mobility.
