Hello everybody !
Does anybody know if CCFL and LED screens are interchangeable?
I want to replace my dimming lcd in my T61 for a brither one and considering possibility of LED screen. I remember T500 was offered with two types of screen backlight, which means, propably, they used the same motherboard
thanks

you can't get the LED lcd for the T61.

Can I downgrade the resolution and install 1440X900 LP154WP1 screen ? -
you can use the wxga+ lcd if you want, provided they are made for Lenovo Thinkpads.

To swap in a LED you'd need to swap the cable and the inverter. Since LEDs were never offered on the 15.4" T61 you'll need to find/make your own cable and inverter along with finding screen that's compatible, none of which I know how to go about. Perhaps the T500 LED may work, but it wouldn't surprise me if it didn't and its quality isn't well regarded. I think your best/cheapest option would be to replace the backlight on your screen. It's a pain in the rear job. You might be better off doing the whole screen.

Couldn't one swap the lid? The connectors should be the same ... the connector for the LED screen on my netbook is the same as the CCFL on my full sized latpop.
T500 lid? -
