I just received my X1 (model 3443) which came with windows 7 and am wondering if I should upgrade to 8.

Am I going to lose any functionality? Is it worth it? Or am I better of sticking with 7?

    Thanks!

Heh, that's true. Plus, going to Windows 8.x can hardly be described as an "upgrade". :nah:

Seriously, however, to the OP: Whether or not it's worth it you'll have to decide for yourself. For quite a few of us the answer is "Hell, no!", but you may well feel differently.

thinkvantage power manager no longer works in windows 8. I don't see the point of Windows 8 on a non-touch screen machine, unless you just want to use the Metro interface and the various apps.
