I'm curious, has anyone used the wireless display feature of the T420? What Intel calls "Wi-Di" for wireless display. Apparently it's able to stream the display to a suitable device attached to a TV or monitor and show the screen.

I've no immediate need for it but am curious about how well it actually works.

I have used it on my X220 with the 6205 adapter and sandy bridge i5, and the netflix Push2TVHD (PTV2000).

1080p on my HDTV. No issues with quality or sound. I've tried all display modes (extended, mirror, TV only) and have had no issues.

Love the Fn+space which toggles the active window between extended desktops. Much easier than dragging windows across.

You can configure it to automatically connect to the paired adapter so you don't have to search and link every time.

Here is the only negative: there is a slight delay. I haven't timed it but I'd peg it at about 1/4th of a second or so. I wouldn't recommend wi-di for surfing the web or playing media when mirrored (both laptop and tv at the same time) because they will be out of sync and you will hear audio from both sources out of sync and see video out of sync as well.

The delay is not a problem if you want to widi video to just the hdtv (I've tried Netflix HD streaming with no issues) or do photo slideshows, simple surfing, etc.

I've never had a chance to try it, but am itching for a well-priced compatible FHD projector. Might even settle for 1366x768
