I am planning on buying a new monitor to replace my dell 19" which runs fine using my VGA port on the T61.

I was wondering if anyone has a large external lcd, like a 24" or bigger.

How is the quality on such a big monitor? Would it be worth buying a docking station just for the DVI port?

    Thanks,

    Jonathan

Hm I was just thinking to get one too and was wondering about the VGA quality on monitors that large.

I have T61p (WUXGA) and HP L2465 (WUXGA) connected via VGA.
And this combo works very well for me.

I bought a docking station just so I could use DVI with my 24" monitor. I've done some comparisons between VGA and DVI, and I definitely prefer DVI output. Much clearer, fonts less blurry, etc. The docking station itself is pretty useful too anyway.

What allenw said. Don't settle for less than 1920x1200 which requires DVI

Does the docking station allow native DVI connections? Can you get a true DVI connection via the Intel integrated graphics or do you need a T61 with the Nvidia 140 chip?

I want to be able to watch movies on the notebook screen but also hook it up to my 20" monitor. I guess I'd need a docking station. How much is that (Cdn funds), btw?
