"We always announce our X series systems on a later schedule than the others. We’ve got something entirely predictable and not quite as predictable planned"
    Inside the Box ThinkPad T420s

Ask there, perhaps he will be willing to share at least announcement date, if one exists yet :D

I don't have high hopes for it since they're putting it in the Ideapad line and the manufacturing is being outsourced, but I'm going to wait and see how it is.

Given that not every ThinkPad released has been perfect during last years either as well as quality varrying from one sample of the same laptop model to another in ThinkPads family, I wouldnt give up hopes on IdeaPad, not yet.

The fact that it's an Ideapad causes few problems.

    1. No roll cage.
    2. No Ideapad yet has had trackpoint.
    3. Chicklet keyboard which I'm not fond of.

I kinda like the chicklet style keyboard in general, and the trackpoint is not really an issue for me either, but a roll cage might - I like machines to be as sturdy as possible if it can be helped.
