I work/run for a small nonprofit so budget is tight and I want to choose wisely. My machine specs are such that I replace every 4-5 yrs. T450s i7-5600U, 14.0" AUO FHD IPS(1920 x 1080), 12GB DDR3L-1600.
Opened my LT and turned on to reveal a broken screen. I checked Lenovo parts and an OEM replacement AUO FHD IPS is $353. If I downgrade to the LGD FHD IPS it is $191.01.
I see that I could possibly go with a generic B140HAN01.3 for around $65. Anyone do a repair recent enough to give a suggestion on something of quality? I realize the brightness controls will be lost if I go non OEM Lenovo parts but the est $70 cost is more in line with the value of the used laptop.
The machine runs around $300-$350 used with my high end specs. Figuring this machine is 3.6 yrs old and I can get a new one similarly configured for $1,200, I might go cheap and then get a new one later this year or next.

I just picked up a T580 in the Outlet with low watt quad core and UHD LCD. Side by side with my HP, it was clear to me the ThinkPad had better color, though I think the HP was a smidge brighter. Once I put the ThinkPad away, my HP seemed good again.
Anyone replace a screen lately? Question on AUO vs LG vs Aftermarket.
