Has anyone received their notebooks from the recent outlet sales? My credit card is still pending from the 10/10 purchase... :( Anyone have any clue why that could be?

I placed my order on 10/12 and the charge is still pending, no shipment confirmation, no nothing. The sales rep says that everthing is in order, but has not responded as to why the order has not shipped. When I made the order last Friday morning, he indicated that it would probably ship that afternoon.

I dont know...when I talked to the rep he said that everything was sent manually so there is no update on the site. Supposedly one person received his already and the site still said pending...lol. So weird. I am like so in the blind here.

I ordered a T61p on 10/10 and it had an ESD of 10/17 and I received it on 10/16 after being shipped on 10/15. Still after all these days the order status for laptop still shows "In Process". Mine shipped from NC and i'm in NC. Hope that helps... Also I just received a new palm rest with fingerprint reader today and i've already installed it.

Also, I never received any email saying that my laptop had shipped. In fact I had just called the same day to try to find out what was going on...

The reason that I got a new palmrest is because I wanted a fingerprint reader and mine didnt come with one... I also ordered the intel turbo memory which should be here tommorrow, trying to max it out as much as I can.. CC was also pending for a while, I havent checked to see if it finally posted yet.

When I ordered one from the outlet on 10/12, the rep stated that it would be shipped quickly. Possibly that day. When I first checked the order online, my estimated shipping date was 10/19. Now it has been pushed back to 10/25. What is going on?

When I ordered my new laptop (not an outlet one) and got the tracking info, it took 8 days to make the trip from China to my house.

    I ordered from http://www.sparepartswarehouse.com/IBM-Lenovo,Laptop,Part,42W2957.aspx

Got the part number from the Lenovo website, took that to Spare Parts Warehouse website and they had it and all the other part numbers that I checked... $58 new plus $14 shipping (they only had two shipping options, $14 and $13). Ordered on 10/17, received 10/18 early, brand new direct from IBM w/IBM logo. Nice deal IMO, but I did try to find it cheaper but now I can move on to other things, ordered the 4965AGN today, the Intel Turbo Memory arrived today and i'm still trying to get a deal on some memory so my T61p should be maxed out soon.

Got mine 2 days ago...unfortunately it comes with a clear blue dead pixel right in the middle of the screen. Still deciding whether or not I should keep it. Also seemed to have problem rolling back to Rescue and Recovery on the partition (waiting on my recovery disc as of now from Lenovo).

If the pixel is blue, then it is not dead. It is stuck. Do a wiki search on how to fix it. Mine came with a stuck green pixel and after 15 minutes of massaging it out with a stylus tip, it's gone

Yeah, it's blue when the screen is black. Did you try the software method first or straight messaging? Thanks.

It is definitely a stuck pixel then; dead ones are black

I didn't bother with the software method. I just took a tissue and my stylus from my treo and pressed against the stuck pixel, not hard, but hard enough with the tissue between the stylus and lcd. At first, it seemed like it would never go away, but I just worked at it, pressing from different angles and then it just went away 15-20 mins later. You have to kind of peek behind the tissue to make sure you are pressing exactly the right pixel and not the neighboring ones

yep..comp was on...why is it interesting? How else are you even suppose to know it went away or you are rubbing the right pixel with it off?

When you say tissue, did you mean a soft fiber or cloth or simply a kleenex cause I suddenly don't want to damage it. The best I could get with my pda stylus and microfiber cloth was like 10 seconds then it came back again...which was very annoying. Yeah, the instruction sounded like it mean mostly for LCD monitor since turning on and off a laptop with Vista and watch it boot is a whole different thing

I meant a kleenex; I wouldn't worry. You won't damage the screen. LCD's are pretty tough in that way, you do have to press hard though...but not too hard..enough for it to distort the lcd

10 sec is nothing..try it for a minimum of a few minutes

Dry kleenex right? Well I mean I held it for 1 minute or 2 then release and the stuck pixel was gone...for like 10 seconds or so then the process started all over again.

yep dry kleenex...you're doing good...it does that the first few times..it will finally disappear, and next day it'll be back. just work at it and eventually it'll be gone all together...what's happening to you is what exactly happened to me

thanks...by the way...how long had you gone at this before it can be gone all together or more than just a few days or weeks. Cause I think mine process go from 10 seconds to almost 1 minute now then it reapppear again.

Lenovo is all jacked up. I ordered my outlet pc on 10-11 and was given an estimated ship date of 10-17. My status was recently updated with a new ship date of 10-24. I call twice today to find out what the problem is and all they tell me is credit card hold and they will call me within 48 hours. What's up with the hold? I've got zero balance on a card that has a $55k limit.

Also It's near impossible to communicate with the quickie mart employees they have working the phones.

I got a great deal, but I'm close to telling them to stick their pc up their @#$.

it took like a week before it finally went away...it would reappear and dissapear at random times..when it would appear, I would move the lcd back and forth and it would go...but it finally went away all together; it just needs time for it to bleed through properly..it'll work fine..i wouldn't worry

to those who are still waiting for the comps via outlet...WTF?? these machines are already built..all they have to do is charge you and ship it...amazon.com does this in under 2 hours...what's up with lenovo?

if you are shipping to a different address than the billing address call your bank and add the new alternate shipping addy
btw, I ordered first on this deal and my shipping date just bumped from 10/22 to 10/29.
I was on cc hold because of a different shipping address but handled it immediately but the hold on the funds fell off so I am assuming I will not be getting my x61s at all.

Shipping address same as cc. Don't know what Lenovo's issue is. They lose a lot of business because of delays.

I'm shopping for other options right now.

once you go thinkpad..you will never even consider another brand again; it is worth the wait. Sitting in the library, I have had 3 people come and ask me what kind of notebook I have and that is just today.

I could definitely see the envious stares of other laptop owners.

I even set motion detection on my notebook via the integrated camera for a period of 1 hour while i went away (i have it locked via a laptop lock) and it captured 8 people staring at my computer checking it out

I must admit, a thinkpad is sexy

I ordered one last Monday. On Thursday the charges dropped off my card. I called them up and was told that after I contact my bank and correct the shipping address everything would be OK. Genius boy forgot to first ask me if the shipping address was correct which it was. I was pissed that they apparently had no issues putting a hold on my account, but were not physically able to pick up the phone or send me an email to let me know something was wrong. I canceled my order and took my money elsewhere.

I don't know what peeves me more. The way that Lenovo continues to misfire or their persistent and steady path straight into the crapper. It saddens me to think back a few years ago when Thinkpads were the upper echelon of notebook computers. Now, it seems that between their inability to deliver anything in a timely manner (unless you count customer disappointment), and their ever declining customer support that the Thinkpad line is doomed for mediocrity.

I know! but it kind of makes me worry. I wonder if people are checking it out or thinking of stealing it. Then they probably see the lock and decide it's not worth the hassle. The library I study at is a very large library; one of the largest in the nation so there is a lot of human traffic past the study areas

They probably would like to steal it if they could get away with it.

I agree though for some reason Lenovo has been determined lately to anger as many customers as they possibly can. Why do they hate their customers so much? I don't understand it...

Yea, it is worrying when you are away from your comp, how many people 'check it out'

if you have the integrated camera, try setting it for motion detection while you are away (please keep it locked) and you will be amazed and startled

I think lenovo concentrates most of their efforts on satisfying corporate customers or big businesses because most of their revenue is from that; Individual consumers come last

    Don't do it.
But if you must, try the workstation class notebooks from dell.
i have had one for 2 plus years and love it.
Try the small business dell outlet too, sometimes they slash these models hard.

Checking for my outlet "purchase/order" this morning, the ESD changed from 10/25 to 10/19, but the status is still "in process."

Does this mean the item has shipped?

Just off the phone with lenovo. The first guy Paul (quickie mart guy) tried to give me the "we'll call you in 24-48 hours" routine. I told him I was not getting off the phone without an answer. Finally got a supervisor who was able to magically remove the "hold" status. No reason for the hold, it was just on hold.

Just like that....done. How hard is that, really?

I'm so pissed I don't even know if I want the damn pc anymore.

Guess what showed up at my door yesterday?

I ordered mine (X61s) 10/15 and cancelled it on 10/18 when the charge dropped off my card, and I got the run around when I called to find out what happened. I checked later that day and confirmed that the order was cancelled (got an error when I tried to look it up). Low and behold it shows up at my door yesterday. I went ahead and checked it out and I am pretty satisfied with the unit itself. Customer service is a different story. Anyways, I'll try it out for a few days to see how it works out. BTW, no charges show up on the account. I wonder if I have to call them to let them know that they are a few hundred $$ short. Idiots...

This might be standard operation procedure for outlet sales. The pending charge was on my card from the day of order (10/12) until 10/19. My original ESD was 10/19, and the day the pending charge was removed, the ESD changed to 10/25. Then just yesterday the ESD moved back to 10/19. Throughout this whole time the status has always been "in process."

So maybe the order was shipped on 10/19 after all. Hopefully there will be something on my porch when I get home.

My warranty went from "out of warranty" to "expires 12/05/10" and magically it appeared today/shipped monday.

I ordered mine on the 16th, had a ship date of the 25th. On Monday, the ship date changed to the 23rd. On Tuesday (the 23rd) I checked to see if there was shipping info, and the ship date had changed to the 29th. Later that afternoon, the doorbell rang, and there was my laptop.
