Yeah I second that. I ordered yesterday and ship date is 4/15/10. lol. hope it will come earlier then that but it gives me time to see how the reviews are on it. I'm looking forward on how the performance and battery life stacks up to the 400s.

I ordered some fully loaded T410s' (540M, intel 80gB ssd, etc) on 1/7. My ship date was slowly pushed all the way back to 4/21...and I canceled my order.

User DCThinks said he was supposed to receive his Thursday. Like it had actually shipped and UPS in DC had it but couldn't deliver it because of the snowstorm. He was suppose to get it Friday. He hasn't posted anything yet though.

i ordered a t410s with the intel ssd early last week
my ship date was 4/19 =/
at first i thought i'd just ride it out
but i caved a couple days later and called in to change to the cheapo 5400 rpm hdd
i'll just swap in my own intel ssd
at that time, a t410s with that hdd was supposed to "ship within 16 business days"
still waiting for an updated ship date - we'll see what happens

Yea I ordered the 80 gig intel ssd. The price to upgrade was too good to pass up. Sucks cause I have the 2.5 version but it obviously takes 1.8 drives. I'm hoping the ship date goes down but it gives me time to look at reviews and to sell my MacBook pro. I think I could break even.

I was considering getting the cheaper drive also for faster shipping and then just upgrading myself. You can pick up the same Intel 80gb SSD that Lenovo offers pretty cheap at Provantage or Newegg. Still more than the price Lenovo offers them at but you don't get a 250 hd too!

    http://www.provantage.com/scripts/search.dll?QUERY=x18-m&Submit.x=0&Submit.y=0

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=x18-m&x=0&y=0

Makes me think that since stores have these drives in stock, they aren't what's really holding up the T410s orders. Hence, the whole "anyone receive their T410s yet." But then again, for whatever reason, perhaps Lenovo just got a lot fewer of them than they needed...

I too ordered a T410s a few days ago. I emailed my order representative and asked if my order was really going to ship in April. He replied with:

Looks good.. hoping for an updated ship date next week.

The laptop monitor is the problem - they are back ordered. The only way to get one in 15 business days is to order with the touch screen.

My sales rep (not that the information is necessarily accurate - just pointing out that it is different) claims the delay is with the motherboards, fwiw. I wouldn't count on getting a touch screen one any sooner.

Ahh we meet again zhenya00. I just hope they get whatever the issue is fixed and I get my new tool. If you are correct then I wasted the monitor upgrade money and will be doubly unpleased as I did not want the touch screen in the first place. I'll let you know.

Well, I hope you get yours sooner than later, Frank. I'm not saying that my information is necessarily right or anything, just that I am being given a different reason for the delay. Supposedly someone actually has received their T410s over at forums.thinkpads.com, but that's the first machine I've actually heard of in a user's hands.

No, I appreciate you letting me know that you were told a different reason. I will let you know if the screen change actually does make a difference. There may be a different motherboard due to the two screen types...who knows? I will let you know as my order status is updated in a few days (again, according to sales).

Yeah I was told that it was the non-touch screen that was causing the delay. Ordering the touch screen supposedly would make it go faster according to the rep i talked to but I wasn't going to spend the money for a touchscreen when I know I won't use it. I'm hoping that it'll come sooner then April 15th.

No way. Sorry but sounds like more sales man crock to me. Purchasing a 400 dollar upgrade will conveniently make the machine ship faster. Just like if I had have accepted the revised quote for lower specs machines for the same price would have got them shipped to me faster too. Regardless of how any T410s order is in their system, none are shipping. No T410s' regardless of price or features have shipped yet. So far, there's only one rather obscure video post about a T410s that has shipped, with few relevant details. Ship dates in orders, ship dates from sales people, expected ship dates on the websites for T410s have meant nothing so far.

I would have to agree as it seems like there is more than one reason being told to customers for the cause of delay.

Does anyone else have an est. ship date of 3/2 or before?

I should know within a few days if my 3/2 ship date is right, just checked, and it is still 3/2.

Typical 4/21 ship date here, though I ordered during a window when the LCD wasn't showing as backordered (est ship was 2 weeks, so long as I didn't get the intel SSD). Unfortunately that hasn't been reflected in my estimated ship date.

The sales rep (ever the fount of useful misinformation) indicated I should call in a week and see what they have listed for parts availability that would affect ship time, purportedly to get information the web site ship date does not reflect. Not sure if that will give us anything reliable, but I still plan to nag them next week just for fun... ;)

So, my ship date has moved from 2/22 to 3/2 to 3/15 to 3/27. I order on 2/11.

I am almost ready to cancel and either order something else, but what?, or cancel and reorder when the supposed model w/ the switchable graphics or lower watt intel cpu comes out.

But, then, who knows what the price or available discounts will be?

I would call, ask to speak to supervisor and demand a discount. Don't accept no as an answer. To keep extending the ship date like that is totally unacceptable.

That sounds familiar and I am scared.

I ordered 2/11 and my ship dates were 3/2,3/15,3/27

Basically each time the ship date arrives I get a new ship date. I just called today and the rep told me that the ship date is actually 3/20 and that online system is not entirely accurate (no kidding).

My problem is that I am traveling out of the country on the 26th. I don't have enough time left to build another computer with any other manufacturer. I also got a good deal on the price. I am so pissed off at Lenovo right now. I can't imagine how they stay in business with this kind of support. I mean seriously why sell something you can't produce.

I am going to wait till Friday. If it does ship by 3/20 I am canceling. I will have to use my work E6400 for my trip home. I may not actually consider buying a lenovo ever again.
