okay so ive been having problems with my internet.

i dont know if its my WRT54G2 router or if its my wireless card. i remember people were having issues with the Intel 5300 card a while back and am wondering whether people continue to experience those problems.

i'm fairly certain its the router thats causing the problems, but i'm running Windows 7 beta along with this "problematic" Intel 5300 card, so it could be either of those as well.

if theres anyone here with a T400 or any lenovo, running Windows 7 with the card ive mentioned, please let me know if youve had any issues. thanks.

Take it to another network to see it works.

I have this card in my LG P310 and in Win7 64bit I get a BSOD every time I try to connect to a WiFi network :(

Everything works perfectly well on a 32bit version of WIn7, though.

I believe I have the same router as you, and the 5300 is giving me no problems. Constant 99% connection pretty much anywhere in my house.

how long have you had your connection set up without having to reset anything?

yeh, right now i'm leeching a neighbors wireless, but its incredibly slow so i dont know how long i can last without once again resetting my router.

what happened was my old WRT54G from 2000 or 2001, that router was bricked about 2 months ago for whatever reason. it worked fine for all those years but once i brought my T400 home and used the wireless, that router bricked.

so then I bought this WRT54G2, a router with good ratings, and its now giving me problems. i know kids on the DD-WRT forums are experiencing the same problem of it freezing every 24-48 hours on linksys firmware, but friends of mine with the same router dont have issues.

to add to the confusion, when i was back at school on yet another router, similar connection issues would occur as well. those would happen with the default Vista 64 install i had at the time.

i'm gonna wait for some more responses...
and linksys says they'll send me a new router if i determine this issue is not caused by my ISP. i have a feeling they're not telling me something because this is the first time theyve offered to replace a router for me.

Sorry, I just checked - my router is the same as your old one, the WRT54G, not the WRT54G2. I can say that it hasn't bricked on me though.

I initially had problems with the 5300 in my T400 when I got it back in September, but it was fixed by updating to the latest drivers from Intel.

I've been using Win 7 since it was released, and have not had a single problem with it. I'm using a Netgear Dual-Band router at home, and various b networks at school.

Zero issues with my Intel 5300—then again, I refuse to use a consumer-class AP at home (I have a Cisco 1100 AP) so that might be part of it. I recommend making certain you have the latest drivers for your card and the latest firmware for your AP. You might also want to try disabling power saving on your card as some APs have issue with this.
