Just gotta know - seems all is complaining about unresponsive TouchPads on E420/E520. But I want one... :(

When was the last time you heard anyone say anything positive about anything? Just buy what you want, play with the settings, and you'll be fine.

I disagree with the previous poster that changing settings can fix a badly designed piece of hardware.

Often, buying something allows its lineage to continue.

People need to do better usability studies on these things.

Why don't you go march on the steps of Lenovo HQ, while you're at it... Every notebook has some kind of compromise.

I am happy with my E420 touchpad, it is only unresponsive 1 time out of 10, and the only way it is unresponsive is with 2 finger scrolling, so i just lift my fingers back up and set them back down, and everything is fine.

Right now, things tend to point at Synaptics being incapable of providing good drivers. (i.e. the textured touchpad has some issues in Windows, but works flawlessly in Linux.)

I just returned a defective T420s (screen problems) and bought a E420 from CC. To be honest i actually think the trackpad on the E420 is actually better than that of the T420s.
