Mine has the intel 6205 card and I cannot get the damn thing to display on the tv. I have a netgear tv adapter.

At first I had the drivers that lenovo provided, I couldn't even get the widi software to come up. Kept saying it was missing a DLL file.

Uninstalled the lenovo drivers, downloaded the intel drivers for the 6205. Now I can get the widi software to load up. It finds the adapter, attempts to connect but always fails!

Anyone getting this to work from a clean install?

Did you have to order it with Widi? Or does it come on all of the Intel wireless adapters? I didn't see an option for it.

@cr2550: The Intel My WiFi dll file is missing. To install it, download the Intel Wireless LAN drivers for the X220, and make sure that the My WiFi component is installed:

Lenovo Support - Intel Wireless LAN (bg, abg, abgn) for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Windows Vista (32-bit, 64-bit), XP - ThinkPad

@bogatyr: No you did not have to order WiFi Display, it is software which runs on your X220, as long as it meets these criteria:

Prerequisite for installation: The following hardware and software should be installed in your computer before installation of this software.

Intel Wireless LAN adapter card and driver version 14.0 or higher
    Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000
    Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200
    Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205
    Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300
    Intel Centrino Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250

    Intel HD Graphics Family

    Intel My WiFi Technology

And to answer the question of the thread, yes I got WiFi Display to work with an X220, and it's neat. It wirelessly throws what's on your screen to you HDTV screen (HDMI). It's not for rabid gamers because there is a smidgen of latency, but for watching video or just sharing what is on your X220 screen, it's nice. Very handy if you're getting by with no cable TV! I'm using the Netgear PTV-2000 adapter.

I recently got a DLink Mainstage - here's my setup:

x220 with N 6205, mcafee AV/Firewall, dual band belkin 750db, laptop connected to 5ghz ssid

i can install everything fine and then fire up the widi/"my wifi" and then view stuff pretty neat on my TV screen

at this point, i see 2 active connections - 1 is my wireless connection to the router and the 2nd one is a "Unidentified Network" created by the Wireless miniport 3.

however, after this, i try opening "My Computer" and then everything goes for a toss - my connection to the router is lost and the adapter sort of goes into hiding - it cannot see any more wifi connections in the neighborhood.

the "unidentified network" is still connected but the connection to the TV adapter is now lost as well. It becomes a blocked device in "My Wifi".

i need a restart to fix the whole situation.

i see the same behavior even without the TV adapter in this equation - if I enable Intel My Wifi and then open "My Computer" it's the same behavior again.

Any help will be really appreciated.
