Has anybody try Samsung 470 ssd???
I know this one is sata2, but seems like getting a good review.
I'm about to order a thinkpad but have not decided which one (I think t420s, x220, or x1), and thinking of adding an ssd.
So, I know you guys are after 7mm ssd for the thinkpads and wondered if anyone try this ssd yet. They come in two sizes, 9.5mm and 7.5mm.
These ssd are pretty cheap too.
Should I just get Crucial c300??

heres ebay listing for these and theres a tech data pdf file link near the bottom of the listing

Have you thought about the Intel mSATA?

I'm using the 9.5 mm version of the Samsung Series 470 64GB in my X120e; it's a great drive. Can't tell the difference between it and my Intel X-25M G2 80GB.

Hate to beat a dead horse, but I really want to know and am confused (as my X220 is on the way): can you expect to put an mSata in the pcie slot and have it work in any X220, most X220s or is a BIOS/driver fix required to use them successfully in an X220? Thanks.

I had no problems with mine other than the WWAN antennas getting in the way. I believe there's a BIOS update in the near future, which should fix things.

I have two of them. The 256gig in a X120e and the 128gig in my desktop. I've had them for a couple months now, and have nothing to complain about. My scores in Win7 for the desktop is 7.6 and the laptop is 7.8. I did run Crystalmark on both but I don't have the numbers handy, but performance and boot times are vastly improved. Definitely glad I made the switch to SSDs.

That seems to be an even newer Samsung model than mentioned and being used as oem in Lenovo currently. From another post here on this site:

Hello, new to the forums. Just got a T420 and added Lenovo's 128GB SSD II. The model I got was:

Lenovo PN (as ordered from PCConnection): 0A33984
Lenovo PN on the acutal SSD: 45N8076

It turned out to be a Samsung MZ7PA128HMCD-010L1.

Yea, I thought about it and its an awesome alternatives to the ssd, but these samsung SSDs are much cheaper : )
If I get t420s I would definately get ssd and second hdd, but if I get x220 msata would be nice. Maybe get msata and ssd both : )

Oh, I this is a nice find!!! Thank you sir!! I should try this ssd.
256g for under $400 seems pretty decent deal. :D

If you picked up the mSATA drive for $200 and say the 320GB, that'd give you 400GB for roughly $250 while the Samsung drive is $400. I would say you don't need speed for storage.
