My customized T60 was shipped on 2/17/07 with an estimated arrival date of 2/19/07. Well, today has come and gone without a delivery, and when I called UPS to figure out what happened, the rep said there was a delay going through customs. He said the new delivery date would be tomorrow, 2/20/07, but I just checked the UPS site again and saw this message:
Now the rescheduled delivery date is 2/21/07, and I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same delays. I have absolutely no idea why the FDA and the Dept. of Agriculture need to inspect my laptop. I swear I didn't get the free upgrade to a bushel of apples!

They probably found some kind of critter or plant in the crate that has your laptop (and many others no doubt...those crates are huge), and now the government has to go through it to make sure some weird beetle or bug or plant doesn't get into the states.

Most likely, nothing is wrong with your laptop...but when the government gets involved you might have a slightly longer delay than you would prefer.

Yes thats true, also sometimes the crates are checked at random for security reasons, the delay is usually 1-2 days so it shouldn't be much longer (hopefully)

I had the same issue around Christmas when the customs folks held up my laptop for 3 days! No sweat! A little patience and the rewards will be sweet :)

This message has been added to my package progress on the UPS site:
It sounds like an improvement from the previous message...
