So I ordered a T400, got scolded and ended up cancelling the order same day I put the order in. Called Lenovo and they said order was already at the factory. Originally I wanted to reconfigure the order, they said no problem. Then after getting scolded I just ended up cancelling it. About a week later I get an email saying, shipping confirmation or something. So the laptop I cancelled shipped out. I called customer service again immediately, they said when did you cancel it? I told them and it was only noted. So it shipped out from HK and I am waiting on it to get to me so I can send it back and get credited. The rep. I talked with said RMA postage will be covered by them and no restocking fee will be charged. That is what happened so far. I am thinking about purchasing a R61 for around $600 due to my allowed budget. I better not get charged the restocking fee or I am going to be ridiculously pissed off. Not even going to open the box. Ridiculous... How long does it take for a lappy from HK to come to US specifically North East. Anyone?

It depends upon whether you did UPS ground or 2 day. It could take up to 5 days or so if it comes through Alaska via ground. I recently did the return thing and it takes them a week or so to process the credit after getting the laptop back. Just don't open it and send it right back and there shouldn't be any problem with them waiving the restocking fee.

Why'd you get scolded? Didn't you think to maybe run this laptop by your parents before you hit "Submit"? I am sure if you did, then you wouldn't be in this mess. You can't blame anyone else and say that it is "ridiculous"; you can only blame yourself if they decide to charge a fee (but they probably won't).

I run everything by my parents just to make sure the decision I am making is the right one. Maybe you should try doing the same next time.

As to your question, it would largely depend on the type of shipping service you ordered, but I would expect that it would arrive in 5-10 days from leaving the factory floor. Didn't they give you a tracking number for your shipment? I would expect that of a company as large as Lenovo. You should be able to track the progress yourself.

scolding can potentially come from sources other than parents. Scoldings by the wife/husband can be alot worse than anything the parents can ever dish out!

As for shipping of canceled orders, it happened to a few people i know, so it seems to be rather common. I wonder if their sales and manufacturing dont talk to each other after orders get sent to get manufactured. Maybe thats why every month or so there is a huge number of laptops up for sale in lenovo outlet for cheap.

LOL. Scolding was from girlfriend. I am buying it with my own money... Don't feel like going into a flame war so w/e. I have been tracking it. But usually UPS has an estimated delivery date. Which this shipment doesn't have, I assume because it is coming from outside the US.
