I was disappointed with the HD camera of the X220. The flesh color tone of the people that I see is not natural. The people at the other end states that my image is pixelated and slow. I paid for the highest level of my cable internet (Time Warner) and my upload speed should be adequate and should not have much pixelation and slowness for the people that I video chat with. My other non-HD camera of my older laptop works better. I am using Skype for video chat.
Do I have to do some adjustment to the camera for it to be better?

Using more light will help framerates on video cameras because the same pixel does not need to be sampled as many times to filter out the noise.
Generally, Skype does not send as much information as the camera creates. Looking at your image in the preview in Skype/tools/options/Video-Settings will give you a smaller preview of what the camera creates, but that does not mean that that is what is going to appear on the other side. The latest version of Skype does not seem to do video as well as the previous.

I've actually been quite impressed with the video quality from my dad's X220.
How's the internet connection and computer on the receiving end of your video? That also plays a large role: if the receiver has a slow computer or a slow connection, the video quality won't be great either. In addition, as BrendaEM mentioned, Skype does not send the full-quality version of your video, so there will be degradation.
Regarding color, that will depend on light, and your settings. Press Fn + F6 to open the Communications Utility and adjust webcam settings there.
Anyone disappointed with the HD camera of the X220 ?
