    Since my fan has been rattling for ages, and oiling it didn't help, I need to buy a new fan. I'm guessing most of the cheaper ones on ebay aren't OEM, but I'm thinking it'll be much better than the annoying one in my laptop right now.

    This was the one I saw after a quick search on ebay. Anything I should know about?

    There is no generic fans as such, they are either new, second hand or refurbished units.

    As long as they match up in the part no. of your heatsink then it should be okay.
