New T400, right in the middle of the screen
I've only had it on for an hour and now that's all I see

The "industry standard" dead pixel policy is something like "if one pixel in the center, or 5-6 pixes total, are defective then a replacement is allowed". I'd give them a call.
-
-
Call them and ask, one pixel in the center can be enough to warant a change if you find a nice rep. If it is not in the center then it will require a lot of them, I think leveno requires more then either 5 or 8 generally.
-
Looks like you need 3 or more, regardless of location.

You can always return it within the standard return policy for dissatisfaction but I don't know about any sort of "restocking" fee. I did this with Dell once at their suggestion because my 20" widescreen had one defective pixel in a rather annoying location. There was no restocking fee and they shipped me another but it was handled through the customer satisfaction type claims rather than tech support.
I'd suggest calling before giving up all hope. You might be able to talk them in to it since the defect is dead center, I've heard of that working with other companies. -
Are you sure it is dead and not stuck? Try massaging the area or holding down the are and restart the computer and then let go to see if it removes the stuck pixel (don't press too hard though!).
Worth trying. -
Guy: "Nothing, just massaging my new laptop lcd screen."

try killing some pixels
-
yea just kill a few more so that you can have as many dead pixels as they require
-
Well, i got a dead pixel around the right bottom corner. i called and asked if they can replace, but they said if there are less than 2 dead pixels, they can do nothing.
However, yours is in the center, i guess that's different cause that might be very annoying.
Anyway, you should definitely complain about that. -
i dont know if you guys are seious or not but how do you kill pixels??
-
Like the others mentioned, just give them a call and tell them - it's worth a shot, you got nothing to lose. If they refuse, spend some time and try to argue with them - it worked for me with Dell once
Otherwise, try to return it.. -
Sorry to hear about the dead pixel. Good luck dealing with the customer service from Lenovo. I hope it works out. I am actually on the phone with them right now waiting because I want to get a price match done...its been 40 mins!
Anybody know what Lenovo's return policy is on dead pixels?
