Any review on the Lenovo ThinkPad 64GB Solid State Drive? Is it a SLC or MLC drive?

    Thanks,

    Sean

Looking for the same thing, but for my X300's 64GB SSD.
It is alledgedly a Samsung product, but that's about all I know.

Just check for Samsung or OCZ Core 64gb SSD reviews. Chances are they will be used.

I tried to look this up but the product information specifically for the x200 hoping to see if there was anything on the 64g SSD...but there is nothing up yet (or at least when i checked earlier today).

flipfire: it is more of a matter if the drives are Samsung or OCZ...because the OCZs are MLC. I've heard that Lenovo uses Samsung SSDs...but who knows until we get them or we find some good sources.

The first OCZ drive is a rebadged Samsung 2nd generation SATA SLC drive.

Ya, I've heard that. I guess we will just have to see in a couple weeks.

speaking of 64GB SSD, looks like anyone who ordered the X200 with 128 GB SSD free upgrade will end up getting a 64GB SSD or 200GB SATA instead. At least they are not just cancelling the orders. Not a bad way to handle their mistake.

I called Lenovo about the brand of SSD; the sales representative couldn't find any information or remember which brand they use, but he did say that Lenovo only uses 'one' brand of SSD and he also mentioned that it's one of the leading brand producing SSD.

I asked if it's Samsung, but he said he doesn't know.

    Hope it helped.

Lenovo signed a contract with Samsung and uses them for all their SSDs, as far as I know.
