    u have to make ur own recovery dvds, but in cases when u get the wrong os installed like getting xp instead of vista, you call them and they will send a pair of vista recovery dvds

    To be clear, they don't send recovery media for the typical new machine, either.

    I saw Lenovo web site (not outlet) has a XP downgrade disc option.
    May be I should get it instead of outlet.

    That's a possibility. I actually had them throw in XP restore discs. I have no intention of running XP, but it was a free option, so why not? It would have been much more useful to have restore discs for the OS I actually ordered installed, but whatever.
