Any reason not to include WWAN on TP61 if no additonal charge?

So I'm rerunning my configuration options today and notice that the DVD recorder is now a free upgrade AND an integrated WWAN is listed as $0. Maybe it was this before, but I don't remember it.

I don't have that service now, nor do I plan to anytime soon, but is there any downside to getting it since it may be useful in the future?

Free is the best deal. Get it.

Also I don't recall the WWAN option when I ordred mine about a month ago. However I think it is included. It could be that it is a marketing type of thing to make you think you are getting more for free.

    Like stating "Motherboard free".

    Not in the least.

I added mine aftermarket and paid $35 for antennas and $289.00 for the WWAn card. in addition I had to take my system down to the bone to add the new antennas, that's an addition eight hours.

Free in this case is not at all like saying the motherboard is free. This is a rather amazing offer.

My sales receipt shows the WWAN.

However it doesn't list in under devices.

Maby it kicks in after installing a WWAn Card.

the antenna is free, the card will not be free.however you can have it "wwan ready" meaning you get a free antena and if desired, pay for the card itself.its was not an option before.

I'm going to call Lenovo sales to see if mine is WWAN card ready. I think it is.

Of cours the service for WWAN technology isn't free as far as I know.

I am confused - from satellite's post it seems that the WWAN card is not free, but it comes with the antenna installed. Correct? Is it listed as a 0$ option? Does that mean you can deselect it, and not get the free antenna? Confusing...
If the WWAN card does come installed, then there is no downside, except that you cannot install turbo memory, but that is not a downside in most users opinions. I don't know if my turbo actually helps, or not. I could see the telecoms subsidizing the WWAN cards, hoping to get more people to sign up for the rather expensive service - like giving away cellphones if you sign up for service.

Does having the antenna, and whatever else they install to make it "WWAN Ready", add more complications and potential for more things to go wrong?

I saw myself using the 1GB turbo memory more than the WWAN in the future (since I just use my phone for a modem) that I went with the turbo memory.
