I got ordered a t61 14.1" with 1gb 1 dimm and plan to order another 1gb stick from newegg since it's a little cheaper. Is there any problems with ram mixing in this model?

No, as long as it's DDR2 400/533/667mhz speed.

so i take it that you ordered the minimum amount of memory from lenovo?

if so, good job. now you order 4 GB (2x2GB) of laptop ddr2 667mhz memory from newegg. when the laptop shows up, you take out the 1GB stick, and put in the 2x2GB ones. you can sell the 1GB for $15 on craigslist or just hang onto it.

Currently, max it out would be 8 GB (4+4), since the 4 GB DDR2 667 SODIMM stick is available. :p
