    I'd love a 4lb 14" wide screen IBM notebook. Would even consider a 13.3 and/or a 15.4.

Has anyone heard if IBM is likely to offer a widescreen in the near future?

    Thanks,

    Bradesp

IBM is left behind in terms of multimedia application if compared to DELL/Sony/etc. is that because they are focused more on quality control and business (more to the security) application where other brands are just following the same trends and focusing their sales on multimedia users...

IBM is absolutey focused on the business market more so than the consumer, but they realize that business users obviously desire some of the features showing up in consumer oriented notebooks and therefore will be looking into bringing these features into their line of notebooks. But it'll be slow, and their focus is much more so on usability of a notebook (very important for people that want to get work done) and build.

I wish they would put such basic things as multimedia card readers into their notebooks, but I prefer having a tough built machine that's fantastic for typing on that something with cool buttons and a glossy screen that has a flimsy keyboard.
