Hey all, I recently rolled back my 3000N100 system to original settings, using (yes) the dreaded Lenovo system partition. After uninstalling all the bloatware and reinstalling all the software, it seems to be working well and the problems I was having appear to be fixed. I noticed that the fingerprint reader is now activated again when resuming from standby and hibernate. I don't mind exactly, but before the restore I had this disabled, which I preferred, and I can't remember how I did it. The Omnipass 4 software has a check box for "invoke at logon" but it is not checked, even though the reader DOES appear. I am quite sure this is how it was when I first bought the computer; I remember thinking it was weird. I don't want to start checking and unchecking those boxes as I also recall that they resulted in some unpredictable behavior. There is no option to treat startup differently from resume. So here are a few questions:
- Does anyone know a surefire way to disable the reader at resume from standby/hibernate, but not at logon?
- What is supposed to be the relationship between Client Security Solution and Omnipass? When I open CSS, the fingerprint reader tool button is greyed out, and when I tried to install the Lenovo Thinkvantage fingerprint reader software (before the rollback) it said that it was not supported on this machine. I have Lenovo Password Manager (cssauth.exe) disabled as it creates a separate prompt for my password at every startup, which is totally annoying. Would re-enabling it help? Can that startup prompt be disabled without disabling PM?
- Does anyone know any better software to control the fingerprint reader? Omnipass 4 has a crummy UI and is confusing to apply settings. Is Omnipass 5 any better? Also, Omnipass 4 also doesn't work with Firefox 3 and I am pretty sure 5 doesn't either. Is there any software that does?
Any help would be appreciated. I actually like the fingerprint reader and so far (on the reinstall) it is fast and stable. I don't want to mess that up, but I would like to get some added functionality if I can. Thanks.

I had a 3000N100. Fingerprint never worked well. NEEEEEEVER. There was 2 options for me> forget it and use normal password or, buy new fingerprint reader that contains speakers and touchpad...

Hmmm, maybe I should be happy with what I've got
