    Hi all,

Since I found all the posts here so helpful leading up to my purchase, I thought I'd post my impressions after receiving my T60.

    T60
    14.1"
    C2D 5500 1.66 ghz.
    Radeon x1300
    1.5 GB RAM

It was the first time I've actually held and got a feel for a Thinkpad...I was blown away. This thing just feels so sturdy and well built.

My dad ordered a 15" with flexview the same time I ordered mine so it's been great to be able to compare them side to side. His screen is better than mine, no doubt. Colors are richer and more vibrant and the viewing angles are pretty much unlimited.

Mine came with the 9 cell and his came with the 6 cell. We've since swapped because I have a 20-25 minute walk to school everyday so the lighter the better. The difference in mobility is huge after the switch. Not only is the unit lighter but it just feels so much more streamlined with the 6 cell.

My only complaint is this: I bought my unit direct from Lenovo but through visaperks. No doubt there are some great deals doing it that way if you are from Canada. Anyway, at the time of order, the website said that Bluetooth was the only pre-installed wireless option. Because I obviously wanted a wireless internet card, I opted for the Thinkpad wireless card. Well my laptop showed up with an intel card installed and the Thinkpad card in a separate box. I was kinda ticked off about this. Now it says on the website that my model ships with the intel card. Anyway, I don't want the intel card as I generally heard far more favorable reviews for the thinkpad card. Hopefully there's a thinkpad dealer around here that they can send me to so I can get the thinkpad card installed. That's my only gripe.

Thanks again to all the posters here that helped me and if anyone has any thoughts about my intel/thinkpad wireless card problem let me know.

Try out the Intel card, you may be pleasantly surprised. So this is an additional internal card they sent you?

Yes, the unit came with the intel card installed and the thinkpad card in a separate box. Maybe more trouble than it's worth getting it switched? If that's the case, I'll send the thinkpad card back on their dime.

Unless you see the Intel card dropping signals, it may just be more trouble and resources getting switched. Did they charge you extra for this second card then? I would just say go ahead and sell, may find someone with an X60 (w/ Intel card) who would be interested in taking it off your hands.

Well, I paid for this second card (the Thinkpad card), thinking that the system didn't ship with a card. Not only had I heard better things about the Thinkpad card but it was also $20.00 cheaper than the Intel card.

Is there really a difference between the Intel Pro and Thinkpad card?
Considering the Intel is $20 more than the Thinkpad.

Well, i've heard stories of better quality signals. But you did not pay an additional amount for the ThinkPad card right? It was just $20 less then the Intel one upon configuring?
