Hi...
Came across this analysis today. It is interesting though much of that the article contains is already known. Here is the link to the article.

proves only one thing.
Yang YuanQing is a much more capable CEO than William Amelio. Good thing the board fired him. -

It's one thing to aim to be in top spot in the sales table. it's another thing to be doing it profitably. It may not be easy to find out the latter info.

From what i know, i think Lenovo is doing pretty well in terms of profit, much better then either Dell or HP in many markets.
Lenovo doesn't seem to waste much money on pet projects, unlike Dell or HP in the recent years. -
Interesting article indeed.
This is one of the reasons that I'm not as critical of Lenovo as some folks. IBM may have made some damn fine machines, but they couldn't do so profitably. Heck, they couldn't even come close: as I recall the Personal Systems group lost money every year with the exception of one or two in which they basically broke even. Lenovo, on the other hand, has managed to make the Think lines profitable while still retaining the vast majority of the quality that IBM's Think line was known for. That's pretty impressive work IMHO. -

Wow Lenovo is #1 for desktops? They better lower the price of an ThinkCentre so I can complete my Think collection. :X
