I always thought my crummy old battery was cutting me short, only giving me 48 hours of runtime . . .

Booted up this morning and had this bubble. You're the only folks who I thought might get a kick out of it.

I believe it should say Watt Hours, in which case the message would be accurate (battery at 70% of design capacity). If your battery is 70 WHr and your system uses 10 watts, you would get 7 hours of life. Although I definitely admit the notice needs to be made more clear.

actually, any atom netbook with an intel ssd and a 24-cell (225 Wh) batt. could do it.
it's just that the lazy ..stards don't offer one

You'd be buying a battery that happened to have a netbook attached.

Is that 70 watt hour battery 6 or 9 cell? If 6, that's still pretty impressive. Not 70-hours-on-MobileMark-2007-impressive, but pretty cool nonetheless...

I think it might be the discontinued 7 cell that was available for the T61. The 6 cell should be 56WHr and the 9 cell should be 84 Whr.
