I bought a used X30 on Ebay. According to BatteryMaxiMiser, the battery was manufactured in October 2002 and 141 charge cycles I get about 3 and a half hours of battery life without wireless. If I were to buy a new battery, are the knock-off brands on Ebay okay to use? How long of battery life can I expect?

What is the cell count and capacity of your battery?

I found that the generic li-on batteries on ebay were not nearly as good (for my digicam) as the original canon battery.

Also how do you know your battery has had 141 charge cycles?

I'm not sure how many cells the battery has. It's the default battery that came with the laptop. The program BatteryMaxiMiser tells you the number of charge cycles.

Most small-size batteries have 6 cells

Click on the Green battery on your taskbar, then click on Battery Information.

The x30 had a six cell battery. I think it was 4-5 hour depending on usage.

Download mobilemeter and check your battery wear rate. (google it)

Mine X22's battery wear was at a lovely 50% so I only had 1 hour and 45 minutes of charge with wireless and full brightness.

I just bought a new battery off of ebay for about 50$ shipped. It's working fine until it explodes and takes out my desk.

I'm kidding about the desk part, I have a 1 year warranty on it anyway in case something does happen.

If you find a battery on ebay make sure it has at least a 6 month warranty on it.
